Last year's reunion - August 17 - 19, 2007
Another great Reunion has come and gone. As always, there was camaraderie, laughter and stories (Tall Tales!) to tell. Thank you to the Board for all of your hard work. We have come a long way in the last five years.
The Great Kahuna was smiling upon us this year. We had the best surf ever for a Reunion.

A get together at Hal & Karen Coste’s on Friday evening kicked off this year’s event. Lots of conversation and catching up with each other. Karen always hosts such a nice party. Many thanks. We all enjoyed it.
We met Saturday morning on the beach in front of the VFW Club for surfing. WOW!!! Did we have surf!!! The pictures tell it all. It was hard to come out of the water for food and beverage. Nobody wanted to miss a wave.
Saturday evening we held our annual meeting at the VFW Club. Seventy-three members and guests attended. The Board welcomed new members and talked about trips and functions they are working on for the upcoming year.
There is a lot going on.
We have over 85 members now, most of whom attended the weekend festivities.
Will Lucas of SURF 64 gave us a preview of his latest documentary, Board Shorts.
There are great interviews with some of our original club members and vintage surf film footage.
The documentary is very well done. It isn’t quite finished, but when it is, it will be available for purchase.
We also celebrated Miss Kitty’s 84th birthday. For those of you not familiar with the history, our Club meetings in the early years took place in Tommy Proctor’s basement. Miss Kitty (Tom’s mom) always kept us fed and the door was always open. She is the Matriarch of CCSC. Thank you Miss Kitty. We all love you.
Sunday was surf time again in front of the VFW. Another great day of surf and sun. As the day waned, folks left and headed back to the real world. All had smiles on their faces. What a fun week end.
Let’s do it again next year!
Randy Walker of Dunes Properties of Charleston was kind enough to donate a beautiful home in Wild Dunes to accommodate our out of town guests. We appreciate that so much. Thank you.
Bo and Cheryl Stallings, thanks for saving parking space at Island Time for us ‘old surfers’.
Thanks to the VFW Club for renting us the space for our annual meeting and dinner, as they have every reunion in the past.
